COLWYN Bay FC defender Alex Downes has won the club’s supporters’ player of the season award.

Downes scored five goals in 34 appearances for the Bay in all competitions this season.

He also captained the side on several occasions in the absence of regular skipper Tom McCready.

This is the second time Downes has won the supporters’ award.

He was named supporters’ player of the season in the Covid-19-disrupted season of 2019-20.

Meanwhile the club have advertised for the role of first team manager after parting company with Steve Evans.

The club are looking to appoint a manager with experience of Welsh domestic football/non-league football.
